Two year regular programme
D.El.Ed is a Diploma course in Elementary Education. It is a 2 year full time diploma course to train teachers for the primary level and can be done with classroom training or distance learning. It is a 4 semester course to prepare students to work in primary/ upper primary schools in different states . The design of the course is such that it includes practical training and internships along with classroom training. It includes principles of child development, education practice, and the role of the teacher in grooming the students.
Basic Qualification:
Plus two/VHSE(Maximum 3 chances)
Minimum passmark: Gen(50%), OBC(45%), SC/ST(pass)
Age limit : Gen(17-33), OBC(17-36), SC/ST(17-38)
In every academic year General Education Department of Kerala receives application for admission followed by an interview conducted by Office of Deputy Director of each District.

On completing the D.El.Ed , candidates can apply in Private schools, Government schools, nursery, Daycare centres, online educator, Coaching centres and Private tuition classes. They can take up jobs as a junior teacher, content writer and/or reviewer librarian, record keeper, education counsellor. Candidates who have completed the D.El.Ed can further pursue the Bachelor of Education ( B.Ed) course and undertake a full time teaching job.
